I loved this recruiting class, and the class before it. I think that we are set up to start winning at a high level in 2023.
2022 is a different story. Connor Bazelak was awful last year ever since Kentucky. He's not the guy, barring some miraculous turnaround in the offseason. He doesn't have the arm, mobility, or accuracy to succeed in the SEC. In addition, the o-line was suspect. Thankfully, the receivers will likely significantly improve with the combination of JJ Hester, Burden, Miller, Wayne, Hea, and Dove.
And then there's the elephant in the room...replacing Badie. He was literally almost all of our offense in the second half of the season. I think Tavorus Jones will be excellent long-term, but it's a lot to ask a true freshman to fill shoes that big.
I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. So when the staff doesn't make serious attempt at all in the transfer portal, don't complain when you're not seeing tons of fan NIL $upport on Signing Day. Start winning first, and actually take the steps to do so.
We needed to have gotten a transfer portal QB, a running back, and an offensive linemen this off-season, but that didn't happen. That might have led to a 7-5 or 8-4 campaign next year, but now that looks very doubtful. That's what needed to have happened to get NIL support and fan attendance at the level Drink begs for.

If I’m missing something here, please let me know.
