COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Basketball fans will have a special chance to see the newest documentary from ESPN Films, “Norm”, at Mizzou Arena on Friday, April 29, with a free public screening at noon. A panel discussion with three former Norm Stewart players will take place to introduce the film, featuring Kim Anderson (1973-77), Gary Link(1971-74) and Jon Sundvold (1979-83).

Mizzou’s current head coach, Anderson was a standout player and assistant coach for Stewart. Anderson earned 1977 Big Eight Player of the Year, was drafted in the second round of the NBA Draft by Portland and twice served on Stewart’s coaching staff (1982-85; 1991-99).

Link, the long-time radio color analyst for Mizzou Men’s Basketball, played for Stewart in his early days as the Tigers’ head coach. Link had a key role on the first two teams in program history to win 20 or more games (1971-72; 1972-73).

Sundvold, an All-American guard for Stewart in 1983, helped lead the Tigers to four consecutive Big Eight championships. Sundvold went on to a nine-year NBA career and has since worked as a color analyst for ESPN and the SEC Network.

Anderson, Link and Sundvold each participated in interviews with ESPN for “Norm” and are featured in the film.

Fans are instructed to park in Lot P directly south of Mizzou Arena and proceed through the main south doors, which open at 11:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to sit in Section 106. Light refreshments and popcorn will be provided, but fans are encouraged to enjoy their own lunches during the screening.

Anderson, Link and Sundvold will be available informally to the media following the film.

“Norm” is the 25th film in the SEC Storied library and was directed by Fritz Mitchell. It will make its broadcast debut on the SEC Network on Sunday, May 1, at 8 p.m. CT.
