I felt the need to start a thread so this didn't get lost in a reply. Wanted to comment on the numerous contradictions. The supposed grind it out offense is actually just a 4 out motion by the looks of it. The motion gives players the freedom to drive and create, kick to open shooters by creating space on the drive. Should get Tilmon easy buckets by drawing his man over. The problem is we don't have the players to get by people. The infamous Hood Tiger argues we play slow, but it is more on the players than on Cuonzo to me. He is giving players freedom, we just do not have the athletes to do it. Hell, maybe we should be more deliberate and run more sets to fit what we have.
We cant run without pressure or athlete's either, I don't see it as a system or coaching issue. Hard to believe we would not promise Love a starting spot, he is exactly what we need. If that is how the game is played, play it. I think Cuonzo is trying to recruit more athletes, it is hard to go head to head with Blue Bloods. Bottom line is CM needs to get a few difference making athletes that can score and create, because we have a whole team of complementary players. I am not knocking our kids or our coach, or even Hood for that matter, who has said as much
