Barry's defense of the decision to pass the ball on 3rd and 2 is, well, indefensible. A run play there, even short of the 1st down, wins the game. Because if everything else goes exactly the same the rest of the game Kentucky has no ability to stop the clock after taking the sack on 1st & 10 from the 20 with :08 remaining on the clock. Even the defensive lapses (which have reared their ugly head every time we put our defense in that position) can be overlooked, because when the defense stepped up and made a play that rightfully should have ended the game Kentucky was able to play on due to the coaching staff's poor decision making.
The fact that he waxed over this by saying there was no difference between a timeout and an incompletion might not point towards outright incompetence, but it's pretty damn close.
