This will work for anybody who (like me) doesn't have a cable or satellite subscription, or if your current cable or satellite provider doesn't offer WatchESPN. It is legal, but not free.
You can sign up for SlingTV (not to be confused with SlingBox) for $20/mo. (no contract). Their site is at http://sling.tv. You can use your Sling account just like a cable or satellite account to log in to WatchESPN on the web or on any of ESPN's apps for mobile devices or set-top boxes.
You can *also* sign up for their Sports Extra package, which includes SEC Network (and alternates), which my old cable provider did not support in the WatchESPN app.
Also, if you pay 3 months in advance when you sign up, you can get a free Roku Stick or Amazon Fire Stick (or a steep discount on the higher-end Roku 3 or FireTV boxes).
