This is the first big test for our new DC; it is imperative that our D comes out and plays really well at home (and hopefully gets a couple of turnovers). Everyone knows the offense is a mess, hopefully that gets fixed but we shall see. If everyone remembers, the defense played decent to pretty good for the first half of the 2012 campaign but it gets tough when the offense is inept week after week...no matter what is said publicly I think it starts getting in the heads of defensive players when you know that if you make a mistake or two and give up 20 points that it's likely going to result in a loss. For a defense that is most certainly going to be without it's best player this coming weekend, the challenge increases. We need to make sure we keep playing hard on defense and HOPEFULLY the offense will start turning a tap at some point. I think this weekends game could be a swing game for our season. Win this weekend you get to 4 wins and you have Florida coming in at night for homecoming......lose this weekend and quite frankly, things start looking pretty bleak for this year. As of now, there is still tons to play for this season. If the defense can keep going like it has and correct a couple small things I think we get to 6-7 wins (before a bowl) with everything else as is. If the defense keeps it up and the offense shows moderate improvement I think you are looking at 8-9 wins before bowl game which in my mind would be a pretty good year. Imperative for the D to keep it up.
