For a minute let’s completely ignore whether you like or dislike the hire.
Anyone else just shocked that Sterk went out on a limb and hired a young, relatively unproven coach? I didn’t even give Drink much consideration until late last night because his bio just seemed like the opposite of what Sterk would want.
Hiring a veteran coach would have been the safer PR choice and one most ADs would have taken. Crazy to think Drink has less coaching experience than Odom. Credit to Sterk for rolling the dice on upside and innovation. He knows this hire is all his and he went out on a limb. That takes guts and conviction.
This is a very “un-Mizzou” hire, and I love it.
