Barry finishes out 6-6, or preferably 7-5, no way he isn't back, as he should be. Is this a total rebuild? No, but I don't think he truly thought that. A rebuild in attitude, yes. And it appears that is happening.
Since Kentucky, this team has played well. And if they continue will end the season with some serious momentum. Most of the Pinkel recruits will be out of the system. HCBO will then need to avoid the slow starts of the his first two seasons.
I think, others not so much, that we are seeing what happens when a team, with talent, plays together. Do they need more talent on the defensive side of the ball? Absolutely. Is their a good foundation there? Yes, IF Miller and Brooks are what we thought they were. Holmes and Acy at corner could be very good. We need a safety or two and another corner for depth, but we are getting there. Find another DE, and another LB.
On offense, if Drew goes pro, which I don't think he will, we would need a qb to step up. I'm interested in both Wilson and Powell. Can Ballard replace Moore?
Also we need another tackle to step up for Howell.
Folks, you can yell and scream if you want to, but we have the groundwork for a solid team next year. Does it suck we squandered an opportunity this season with early losses? Hell yeah. But too many of you assume that you know things that you don't, that have big impacts on a program. Not saying I have that inside info, just saying I'm smart enough to give Barry the benefit of the doubt.
