My father who is in his late 60s now is a big tiger fan. He was a big supporter of Kim and having a Norm disciple as many of us were. Talking to him the other night he asked if I thought the team would be just as good with Kim as the head coach still. Basically citing that it's still mostly Kim's players.

To start with I would say no obviously on the surface. Diving in a little bit further I think it's a fair question. Roberts would probably be on the team. Robertson may or may not be, probably not. Porters, Tillmon, and Harris would not be.

The other additions that would have been made I'm sure would be less than what is on the roster now. The spots would have been filled with mediocre at best guys that probably wouldn't have many if any big school offers. Someone may have been a pleasant surprise.

The only thing where I would MAYBE give Anderson the advantage is game day coaching. It's a toss up really. But thus far I am not really blown away by what happens during the game in regards to set plays out of timeouts, the use of timeouts, and working the referees.

I think the team has overachieved and Martin has done this well DESPITE the Anderson players. Most of the credit goes to the newcomers. It's impossible to say if the holdovers would be playing this well or not with Anderson as coach. There would be more pressure on them to play well because they wouldn't get much help from anyone that was added.

I did think it was a little over the top for dad to even suggest that Anderson could have the team on the brink of the tournament. I think they would have no more than 10 wins at this point and probably less than that.

Overall I think the game day coaching will improve with better players. And Martin has shown he is going to bring them in.
