what is going on with the playoff system. OSU 3? ND 4? OU 6? This is about the billions of dollars at stake and one group has the power over who gets the major chunk of that money. Of all the years to blow this up, this was the year. Yet, things stayed exactly the same. Except one thing happened and here's what's coming NCAA (or whoever actually runs college football): The players want more power. The country has acquiesced to these type moves because you just can't say no anymore. The players have seen this year how "opting out" is really about power over the system. Its not about them already getting more than 99.9 percent of other teenagers or college students in this country. Its about power. They are going to shut the bowl system down by "opting out". Albeit not understanding this effectively hurts their cash cow. And, don't think for one second this isn't a cash cow that has allowed many people to get rich beyond dreams and help teenagers live a life they never could have dreamed of. After "opt outs" what is the NCAA left with? A 4 team playoff system that is rigged before the first game of the season? NCAA football may want to look within if they want to keep this thing going. Really, in some alternative universe, I'm kind of happy to see it come about because this just isn't going to keep working as is.
