To me, this is a solid data point on how much value hot assistant coaches place making the jump up in a job with the field tilted in their favor. Scott a Florida native who was a HS coach in the state after graduating Clemson, and his dad was a long-time Bowden staffer at FSU. USF is in a fertile recruiting area, where multiple coaches have won, and where immediate expectations likely aren't crazy for a first-time HC since they're coming off a rough stretch with Charlie Strong.
