I know Geist has been criticized on this board and some of it is rightly deserved. But I think now he is a very important part of the team, especially with Harris gone. If I could describe him in one word, it would be TOUGH. He reminds me a lot of Jason Sutherland for those who remember him. He doesn't back down from anyone. It is also obvious that he has worked on his 3-point shot and makes some big baskets at critical points in the games. I think his main contribution is his quickness and ability to slash through defenses to the basket. I have noticed that especially in the last 2 or 3 games. We have not really had that much recently out of our guards. He has made some difficult shots in the process. Without a guard with that ability, the team tends to do the weave or just pass the ball around the perimeter too much. I think by year-end he is going to be a solid contributor and a very valuable part of the team.
