Based on reports from the PM staff it sounds like we're really hitting multiple Juco's hard in search of players this year. We've cherry picked various Juco's over the years, usually just to plug a hole at various positions (Saftey immediately springs to mind) from time to time, but I'm not sure I can ever recall reports of us being so active in the Pinkel era scouring the JUCO ranks as it appears we're doing this cycle.
Seems to me there's two schools of thought at play here: Either #1, the staff feels like they've missed at multiple positions in past recruiting classes with their evaluations and are doing the best they can to plug those holes in advance before they bite us in the ass down the road...........or #2 Pinkel and staff feel like they have all the prerequisite pieces in place to really make a run at a SEC title and beyond in the coming years if they can identify and land some high level JUCO guys to put them over the top.
Considering how well this staff has done at evaluating talent over the years and bringing the program to the point it's at today as a result of it, I have a rough time believing they could have missed that often in the past few recruiting classes to feel like it's necessary to go JUCO wild 14-15 years into Pinkel's tenure.........so I'm leaning towards (and hoping) that the 2nd option is much more in play here. Thoughts?
