A few takes. First we seemed to have more spark. The defense is so good with Garrett. You can see his impact.
Offensively we are a fairly junk offense. What I mean by that is that KB was absolutely horrific in the pass game. He converted a few but he was mostly way off target. He converted 3 pass plays on the last drive but it ended in a punt. It was him constantly and effectively running the football on keep plays that created the little bit of offense we had. He obviously couldn't do that after the injuries later. A few plays where we caught USCe out of position with a dump off or screen and a reverse with JJ. Yeah, the offense is better with JJ. We didn't run the ball well in the run game really and had some more offensive penalties.
It's obvious that when KB cant run and no JJ as a target and a run threat, this offense has very very little to offer. No surprise it fell apart later as teams watched some film and we became either deficient or one dimensional on offense.
