The football program hasn’t won a conference championship since 1968. I am going to assume that most of you weren’t even born yet. Think about that. 1968!! We went 15 years without a winning season after firing the 3rd winningest coach is school history and he only had one losing season. Thank God for GP and that we did play in 3 conference championship games.
But seriously, who does the BOC think that Mizzou is? Do they think that even if Bob Stoops wanted to come out of retirement that he would come here? A bigger name coach would know what a first class football program looks like and it sure isn’t Mizzou. Hasn’t been since Devine left and in those days it was a lot easier.
Mizzou’s problem is that it has this imagine of itself as a major player but doesn’t know how to be a major player. Mizzou has been playing catch up for decades and routinely shoots itself along the way. Not a great formula for success.
The BOC are political appointees of the governor and should let the AD do his job. If the AD falters then you replace the AD. But for God’s sake don’t hinder him.
