In 1972, he scored the first ever basket at the Hearnes Center. He was a 1973 All-American. He made the NBA All-Rookie team during the 1973-74 season with the Atlanta Hawks. And today, Mizzou Basketball legend John Brown was the guest speaker at the Tiger Club of Kansas City’s weekly luncheon.

Brown is in town for Mizzou’s appearance at the Hall of Fame Classic at the Sprint Center. The Dixon, MO native -- now a businessman in Rolla -- is still a big Mizzou fan, frequently attending football and basketball games. His No. 50 jersey hangs in the rafters at Mizzou Arena.

After the luncheon, Brown spoke with the Tiger Club’s Mark Fitzpatrick.
