To get it out of the way, has Mizzou at 81st. To make a long story short, don't read much into Mizzou's rank, because he says so himself...

Basics are that his numbers rely heavily on past performance and projections of newcomers based on past performance with recruiting. It's easy to see why that would present issues ranking a team like Mizzou...

Nonetheless, here's how our schedule stacks up:

Iowa State: 34th
Wagner: 297th
@Utah 58th
Emporia State: N/A
Long Beach (Neutral) 262nd
St. John's (51st)///OR///Oregon State (70th)
West Virginia: 7th (GUESSING)
@Central Florida: 60th
Miami (OH): 294th
Green Bay: 243rd
North Florida: 295th
Stephen F. Austin: 250th
Illinois (Neutral): 104th
---
@ South Carolina: 48th
Florida: 8th
Georgia: 63rd
@Arkansas: 56th
Tennessee: 43rd
@Texas a&m: 15th
Auburn: 56th
@Mississippi State: 59th
@Alabama: 23rd
Kentucky: 2nd
@Ole Miss: 53rd
Mississippi State: 59th
Texas a&m: 15th
@LSU: 91st
Ole Miss: 53rd
@Kentucky: 2nd
@Vanderbilt: 38th
Arkansas: 56th

Observations
1. Our non-conference is hit or miss. If we win our opening tournament game and St. John's does as well, we'll only play one team ranked between 61st and 243rd. Five teams of the former, six of the latter, one that won't count in rpi/analytics and then Illinois. That's a bit dangerous even assuming you beat the bad teams. Good news is that there's only one team that right now I'd consider "elite" in WVU. If you go 11-2, that's a good result.

2. The SEC is better. A lot better. Mizzou is currently ranked 13th of 14. Granted, we know that's an outlier, but the lowest ranked squad is LSU at 91st. We get 6 of our 18 games against teams projected to be top 25, 3 at home, 3 on the road. 12-6 would be a very solid result there.

3. Of the 31 games, 21 are against teams currently projected to be top 60, which is roughly the range of where at large teams come from in past rankings.
