Defense

1. Defensive Line Play- When this defense has been good the defensive line sets the tone. In recent weeks they have started to play well. Logan seems to make a difference. Experience may be helping. Tre Williams is starting to get more time and produce. Beckner becoming as good as he's been and maybe better. Frazier is finally coming around. Palmore and Whiteside are contributing. Time to see it against real competition but it's encouraging.

2. Linebacker play has been better and needs to continue to be. Lee is starting to make some plays. Hall is playing well for the most part. Garrett is doing what he can and for the most part is productive.

3. Corner and safety play is still a concern but I see improvements. Acy, Sparks, and even Cheadle are making some plays. Hilton is playing better. Sherrils seems to be back and active.

Overall I think this defense is starting to play the way it's capable of and it starts up front. Florida's offense should be a good chance for the guys to play well. Limited big play ability, inexperienced QB, injuries to the running backs. Should all help the recipe for success.

Offense

We have all enjoyed the recent opening of the playbook. A lot of it I think is about Jmon. When he plays well the whole offense follows suit. It helps that Hall has become productive. Johnson has produced as well. And Albert O primarily as a TE threat is there and producing as well as anyone in the country. He needs more touches.

1. Continue to spread the ball around. It's working.
2. Establish the run in creative ways.
3. Get Wilson involved in a zone read package. He is really dynamic running the ball. Why not on goalline out of that big bunch formation.
4. Be careful on lateral passes and plays. Florida can quickly make those 6 points.
5. Lineup tight ends wide against smaller corners. No idea why this is not incorporated. No possible way smaller corners can cover Blanton or Albert O.
6. Continued poised, confident, smart play from Lock. He makes it go. We can't win if he doesn't play well. Time to see a great game against a Power 5 team.

Possibly most important--

Don't let special teams beat you.

Get a turnover. Take some chances and jump routes. Punch at the ball. Hit hard without targeting.

I don't want to say this team is back but I'm encouraged and willing to start believing a little bit again. It's time to see it against a decent opponent. Squash them early and they should fold.

GO TIGERS!!
