My father in law played a year of ball for SF Austin back in 1947. My son tweeted something to SFA Basketball about it, and was contacted by the coaching staff. Coach Keller invited us all to the pre-game meal with the team, spent a good amount of time talking to him & helping him relive the memories. Jim is 87 has battled cancer and a very bad knee for years. This weekend he’s been feeling terrible, and we thought would cancel the trip from Liberty to COMO. But when my son called him to let him know about the invitation from Coach Keller, he suddenly felt better and wanted to make the trip. He’s a retired HS basketball coach and has a passion for the sport. He was the center of attention for a while, thanks to Coach Keller. And it didn’t matter that he was wearing black and gold.
Here’s hoping that SFA provides that One Shining Moment 1st round loss to the chicken hawks this year!!
