I guess the proper term is "Quadrant," and not "tier" like I've been using...although it's not broken down into 4th's equally, rather 4 groups, so I'm not entirely sure that's proper terminology...but that's irrelevant. It's less egregious than continuing to use the RPI for any purpose, so here we are.
RPI: 30th
SOS: 19th
Quadrant 1: 5-6 (Remaining: aTm, @Kentucky)
Quadrant 2: 3-1 (Remaining: MSU, @LSU, @Vandy, Arkansas)
Quadrant 3: 5-1 (Remaining: Ole Miss)
Quadrant 4: 2-0
(Emporia Not Included)
It was a good season for the NCAA to weight road/neutral games heavier, and Mizzou to go ape-shite winning away from home, with a 6-6 record out of the friendly confines.
Just compare Arkansas, who by most accounts, is a pretty similar quality team in terms of metrics (rated 14 spots lower in Pomeroy; 6 spots lower in RPI), but is great at home, not so much away from:
Quadrant 1: 4-6
Quadrant 2: 1-1
Quadrant 3: 6-1
Quadrant 4: 5-0
