I know all the disclaimers apply that they are both having down years, but let the following statement sink in:
In football we beat LSU (defending National Champions) on a goal line stand in the same academic year we beat Kentucky on the hardwood.
There are many reasons that many have posted on here describing why we shouldn’t be happy with where we are headed on the hardwood side of things. There are legitimate concerns, but I submit to you that if in August someone predicted those outcomes you would have thought them crazy and agreed that these things happening would be a huge source of pride for our athletic department. I for one am very proud of our Tigers. It might not always be pretty but we are beating some “blue bloods” in both sports. What’s not to like about that?
