If the final drive against UK was the only evidence of Odom's piss poor clock management, I may be able to forgive him. But with the Purdue 1st half submitted as well, the main reason we lost on the final drives can only be pinned on Odom. How you let 14 SECONDS run off before a TO on defense is beyond me. That's JV high school stuff; a JV coach knows that, down three with less than two left on third down and with two timeout left, you CALL TIMEOUT , IMMEDIATELY. Not two second after a second down play, not 14 seconds after a second down play, but IMMEDIATELY. Those 14 seconds, on offense, represent TWO PLAYS. Yes, TWO F'ING PLAYS that BO could have had our O run from our 35 with time left.
How you don't know to spike the ball when you don't make a first down with second down coming up, is JV high school stuff, again. I cannot believe that a D-IA college coach does not know how to tell his Junior QB to SPIKE THE BALL on 2nd down. That alone would have save another five to 10 seconds, good for two plays.
BO left at least four plays on the fiend on the final drive. That is piss poor coaching. I know he grew up on the defensive side of the ball, and I expect a top defense on that side of the ball because of his "knowledge". Instead, it's second rate. Couple that with the piss poor time management that left four plays on the field, and this guy is WAY in over his head. I was a BO supporter going into this season but have changed my mind. He has to go as soon as possible; you have to put players in the the position to win games, and he can't do that. Put a for sale sign in his front yard, whatever. He needs to go very soon, but he cannot come back for 2018. Next week, the wheels fall off the wagon at GA. Let's optimistically hope for 5-7 at best, but 3-9 and would not surprise me. Fire Odom!
