I personally am not freaking out. Why? Cause I don't know crap and most of you don't know crap. I reserve judgement until the end. But let's agree on some common sense.
1) We were never getting the "make them say no" coaches. So just stop.
2) Judge Sterk on how his hire compares to Ole Miss and Arky hires.
3) Appears Sterk values experience.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDNR Portion:
Sterk should be judged against the hires made at Arky and Ole Miss. The programs are arguably equal. We are largely all fighting for the same coaching pool. Point being. If Kiffin, Harsin, MNorvell don't go to any of the three, I can't blame Sterk for that. Seems more like the premium coaches were looking for something different/better/etc. If one of those two gets a 'better' hire then us, then fire away.
Sterk should not be judged on what you think is happening. Cause you don't know crap.
OK, so lets talk about the search, forget your delusions....
Make them say no: Some of you have convinced yourself that Missouri had a chance at these coaches when they really never did. Yes, you make them say no. But they are the golden class and you are not likely to get them. So its stupid to freak out when they say no, when you knew they were going to say no.
MNorvell
Harsin
Campbell
Kiffin
The up and comers: (Coaches that have had early success but also at much easier levels of football. Much is unknown. High risk/high reward.)
Napier
Scott
Healy
The retreds: (Coaches that have failed somewhere before.)
McElwain
Dykes
Mora Jr.
Sarkisian
Experienced coaches: (Coaches that don't fit in the other three categories. Largely losts of experience without ever being 'fired'.)
Anderson
Fritz
Monken
Holtz
Calhoun
JNovell
So really it seems many are mad that Sterk doesn't appear interested in an up and comer (or an up and comer isn't interested in us). Thats fine. But viewing this through the Cuonzo hire (I know, bad time for that). But it sure appears the Sterk values experience and there is nothing wrong with that. So expect a hire out of the Retreds or Experienced coach groups. You can not like that. But it doesn't mean Sterk is wrong or fvcked up this search.
I for one, would be ECSTATIC with McElwain. I think he is a great coach and and a great offensive mind. I also think Anderson would be a really good long play as I also think he is a good coach and really good human being.
Anywho, TLDNR. Those freaking out won't read my drivel anyway.
