I’ll start by saying I’m very happy with his commitment. I think he’ll be a great player for us. What throws me is after first being an LSU commit (which regardless of their QB troubles still holds some H2O) then transferring to a high level JUCO program and leading them to a National Championship, he only had offers from the likes of Tulane, Kansas and Oregon State?
I get he’s not protypical in size ( 5’ 11 - if he’s even that) but with the success Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, even (warning: older reference) Jeremiah Masoli had at Oregon before he got in trouble, it seems reasonable he’d have been a hotter commodity. Again - GLAD WE HAVE HIM! But I’m curious if there are other reasons (if there are any) outside of his size that he didn’t have other Power 5 options.
