I'll pass along relevant information from the press conference here.
Pinkel opens giving thoughts to those in South Carolina.
McElwain doing a great job at Florida, will be a challenge. "Not surprised that they're good. Everybody in this league's good."
Mauk's status: Indefinitely suspended and when he returns, his name will be on the depth chart.
Asked if he has talked to Maty, Pinkel says he doesn't talk about personnel issues. Asked if he would be the starting quarterback when he returns, Pinkel says "I'm focusing on South Carolina." He said South Carolina. I assume he meant Florida.
On Florida: "They've been a very good defensive team for years."
Pinkel says Hansbrough "is getting there."
Asked if Nate Crawford will be limited at all, Pinkel says "He's on the depth chart. I have no comment other than that."
Says the move to WR for Cam Hilton is difficult but thinks Hilton will make it better than most. Said if he'd have caught the pass in stride on Saturday he'd have probably gained 35 yards.
Also says Mizzou disagreed with the penalty on Hilton's long punt return. He wouldn't specifically address the call on Beckner, other than to talk at length about the rule being really good for college football.
Liked what he saw from Jason Reese thought he improved throughout the game.
Update on Harold Brantley: Still on track to be back next year, will start lifting weights (upper body) soon. Pinkel said Brantley had one surgery and apparently doesn't need a second one now (which was different than what we'd thought earlier). Said Trevon Walters was "set back a little bit" due to the car accident, didn't really have a timetable for his return.
DeSean Blair is back this week, Pinkel says he took a pretty good hit in the car accident, good to have him back.
Lock is a natural leader, but "the best form of leadership is to play well." Said they don't need him to rally the troops, they need him to be a good QB.
