Pinkel taking the podium now

Tells us to keep our priorities straight. Not sure if he wants us to ignore the baseball game or focus on it.

Says Culkin day to day, doing better than they thought. Says Russell Hansbrough got tired in the second half, but is very close to 100%.

Asked him about Will Grier. Said "I really feel bad for him. That's an honest mistake."

Pinkel says "We had our shot, we lost it."

Pinkel said he thought of Henry Josey when he saw Nick Chubb's injury.

On the defense: "I think Barry's done a real good job obviously." Says the one area they can improve is getting turnovers.

On Florida: "Probably as good a defensive team as we'll see all year...Lot of complex stuff out there for a guy that was playing high school football last year." Said he missed one throw on an interception, threw into coverage on the second. "Otherwise he did a lot of good things. Certainly we've got to protect for him a little bit better, his movement can get a little bit better."

"You always learn more from adversity, but I'd rather win all my games."

Pinkel says they didn't expect to start Lock this year (which obviously we kind of knew).

Asked about a young QB and young receivers, "Well, put it together and have some fun."

Pinkel says Andy Bauer is having some problems with his hips. Still not 100%, going through MRIs. Intend to get him back, but he's been struggling. Pinkel expects that he'll be able to play in the future at some point, but can't say for absolute certain.

On return games, Pinkel says on punt returns, you don't often have control due to the punt and the hang time. Kickoffs are different. Said opposition has had some good placement on kicks, which has limited returns. "We're working hard to block better and everything else...We're still kind of working through not having Murph a little bit."

Asked if there is anything the offense can hang its hat on, Pinkel said, "Yes and no, I don't know...You run the ball, you throw the ball. We need to get better at both."

Pinkel points out Mizzou had five sacks vs Florida's three. "When you play good people that's going to happen."

Asked if they got away from the run too soon, Pinkel said anything you score three points, you can analyze and critique everything.

Said Crawford played more than they expected and is doing well health wise.

Says Donavin Newsom is "doing really really well. Really happy for his success."

Pinkel asked if there was an update for Mauk: "No." Are you still in contact with him? "I told you I'm not going to discuss it."
