Cruel, but it really is that simple. They didn't come to play today.
I've been unfairly harsh on Mike recently, usually out of frustration over having to wait another game for him to play. But I will give him props for throwing on a uniform and giving it a go today.
I think you saw why he was super hesitant to come back. He's nowhere near the player he's used to being. He was about as rusty as you can be today. But he swallowed his pride and gave the team some valuable minutes. I respect the hell out of that because most players in his position would've packed it up and called it a season.
Let's get a week to rest up and see what we've got next week. All our goals are still in front of us.
