Was in a meeting on campus a couple of days ago and Mack Rhoades dropped in for a couple of minutes and took a couple of questions. Someone asked him about ku, the question was ( I am paraphrasing):
In light of the comments made by the ku football coach that his team will play Missouri, any time and any place and the continuing refusal by the ku AD to schedule us, what are your plans for this situation going forward?...Ever since we left the Big 12, it seems every 3-4 months, we are in the media begging Kansas to play us and makes us look silly
His response was basically that he understands how important the rivalry is with alumni and fans. He also said that ku knows that we want to play them and there is no need to continue harping on it and he would not be begging anybody to play us. He said he has known the ku ad for several years and that Zenger wants to play us but his hands are tied on making the decision ( I assume he means the chancellor won't play us). He said he is going forward with filling the football schedule with teams that want to play us and is not waiting on ku to decide before he does anything...if it works out with ku great but he is not opposed to possibly starting another football rivalry with a team from Kansas as in K-state.
