Listening to the Bernie show this morning on 101.1 ESPN radio in St. Louis and he had a visitor on his show talking Mizzou Football. Cliff notes from memory below:

1) His visitor (can't remember name, a supposed college football insider) said DON'T SLEEP on Middle Tennessee. Said his computer rankings had them 1 slot higher than Mizzou and actually said they would be the toughest of Mizzou's next 4 opponents.

Said their QB was a STUD and was a very unique 22-year old Sophomore and the son of the Blue Raiders Head Coach.

Odom acttually recruited the guy back at Memphis and here is Dave Matter's story on that: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/coll...l&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=user-share

2) ON MIZZOU's recent TALENT DIP...the guest said it all started back in the 2013 and 2014 classes when Mizzou decided to scale back on recuiting Texas and focus more on SEC territory.

He said the recruiting rankings have not gone down so much...but the caliber of kids we have been able able to pull out of the Southeast has not compared to the 2 and 3 star kids we were getting out of Texas.

His theory is that Mizzou had built up a lot of great relationships over 10-12 years in Texas...and now they were back to square-one in the Southeast without those long standing relationships.

He also theorized that Mizzou HAD BEEN on a pretty level playing field in Texas (after the big-3, Texas, OU and A&M)...but were much farther down the totem pole behind all the established SEC & ACC schools they were now butting heads with in the Southeast.

He gave an example where we signed like 13 kids in one class out of the Southeast and that only 2 of those have become starters and 6 or 7 were no longer even in the program.

He said Odom made a smart decision to start re-focusing more recruiting attention back in Texas.

3) BenFred on StlToday says it's time for Mizzou's "Big-3" (Lock, Harris, and Moore) to STEP UP.
