Some good Thursday night games (in what will be a trend due to a SEVERE shortage of HS Football Officials in the StL area this season....you will see more & more Thursday and Saturday HS football games this Fall simply because there aren't enough officiating crews to go around on Friday nights...kinda sad :-(

The amazing Lamar Tigers now hold the nations longest HS winning streak at 50...still aways off from Jeff City's 71-game winning streak by Pete Adkins during the early 70's (ended by arch rival Hickman BTW).
Lamar coach Scott Bailey told the Springfield News-Leader the streak has a unique set of complications.
“Our kids have gotten themselves to the point where winning is a relief. If you looked at the kids tonight, as soon as we got a lead, everyone took a big sigh of relief. That's sad for a high school kid to have that much pressure on him to win a game that it's a relief when they know they're going to win,” Bailey said. “My job as a coach is to try to get those kids to enjoy themselves.”
