The LBs and DBs were the weakest position group yesterday as has been noted many times. The discussion around personnel in the LBs has been pretty fulsome, but I'd like to run through each of the names for the S position to get a better understanding of where we stand.
Sherrils - highly regarded exiting sophomore. Seemed to get ahead of himself last year with NFL "prospects." Appears to have the right attitude after reading Matter's article
Perkins - played well last year. Good athlete. Dealing with injuries?
Hines - transfer. Depth only as we saw by yesterday's play
Hilton - issues here have been well discussed
Ross - big time recruit. Knee injuries. Seems to only play in ST
Freshman - Ulmer etc. have been discussed.
Understand that we may not have Florida or Bama quality safeties, but it feels like there are enough quality athletes in the group.
