We got 3-for-the-price-of-one at the Tiger Club of Kansas City on Tuesday, November 21 as we hosted three guest speakers from Mizzou Athletics: Mitzi Clayton, Associate Athletic Director - Compliance; Tami Chievous, Associate Athletic Director - Academic Services; and Brad Loos, Tiger Scholarship Fund - Major Gifts Officer.
Mitzi first joined Mizzou Athletics in 1990 as a member of the women’s track and field team. Since 2000, she has served in the Compliance Office, where she has primary oversight of operations. Her responsibilities include oversight of camps and clinics, interpretations, rules education, investigations and self-reporting of infractions.
Tami, who joined the staff in 2001, has oversight of the Academic Support component of the Mizzou Made program. Designed to enhance the student-athlete experience, Mizzou Made aims to bring student-athletes to the utmost level of preparedness for life following graduation. Tami and her team recently got the good news that Tiger student athletes posted a 91% graduation success rate, the highest in school history and good for 3rd place in the SEC.
Brad joined TSF in March 2017 after 15 years coaching college basketball, including the previous three years at MU. In addition to his duties with TSF, Brad has another major focus: With #RallyForRhyan, Brad and wife Jen have helped raise over $400,000 for pediatric cancer research in honor of their daughter Rhyan, who was diagnosed with stage-four neuroblastoma as a five-year-old and continues to undergo treatments today.
The Tiger Club meets every Tuesday during the school year. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program beginning at Noon. Our Tuesday, November 28 speaker will be former MU football coach Gary Pinkel and Dave Matter, co-authors of The 100-Yard Journey: A Life in Coaching and Battling for the Win. Come out to buy a book, get an autograph and hear from Dave and Coach Pinkel at the Westport Flea Market Bar and Grill.
