I received the email below this morning, as did several of my friends. I don’t know where the credit came from, unless I received a $20 discount per ticket for a lost FCS home game?
Any ideas?
“I hope that your 2021 is off to a great start! Mizzou Football is coming off a season where it exceeded expectations and provided our student-athletes with the opportunity to compete in a healthy environment. We want to thank you for your support and hope that you are excited to cheer on our 2021 Tigers together!
While preparing for the upcoming season, we have been looking back at accounts for the 2020 season and noticed you have a credit balance in your account of $40. As we turn over a new year, we wanted to check in and see what you would like to do with your credit.
In December, you may recall receiving an email from our Athletics Director, Jim Sterk, where he outlined the 2020-21 budget challenges Mizzou Athletics is facing. While we have eliminated more than 30 full-time positions, restricted non-team travel and non-essential spending, and reduced all sport program and support area budgets by 20 percent, we are still looking for your support for the ‘21 Fiscal Year.
As a valued friend of Mizzou Athletics, we are asking if you would consider donating your account credit to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. With your assistance, we can minimize the financial impact that COVID-19 has had on our department and navigate these challenges while continuing to provide an exceptional academic and athletic experience for our student-athletes.
All donations, no matter the amount, will help. Please feel free to reply back to this email or give us a call if you have any questions at all. We are forever grateful for your support of Mizzou Athletics.”
