Sorry for my absence from the board recently -- I've been a bit under the weather and the Tigers have been away from Taylor Stadium.
As Gabe pointed out in this week's @michaelvshaw .
The Tigers continued to climb the college baseball rankings today. There are a ton of different college baseball polls out there, and unlike in football or basketball there really isn't an "official" go-to poll other than perhaps the coaches poll (but, as GP will point out, those too can be flawed). With 300-something D1 teams, it's tough to keep track of what is what. Still, the Columbia baseball media (we're not a cartel, I swear) usually refers to these five when discussing rankings:
Mizzou Baseball Rankings 4/13/2015
D1Baseball: #14 (LW 19)
Coaches: #18 (LW 23)
Baseball America: #14 (LW 20)
Collegiate Baseball: #17 (LW 16)
NCBWA: not released as of now (LW NR)
I'll probably continue to use the Baseball America ranking in my stories and posts. The Trib uses BA, and the team has mostly used it as well (I've been told the team uses whichever rankings are the most favorable, but whatever).
