I know Iowa State was picked 9th in the big 12 this year, but good teams put away bad teams early. That is exactly what they did.
It’s been a long time since we have had two quality big men who can compete against anybody in the country. They are the best duo they have had since the Norm days for sure, if not ever.
The best part of tonite, and something I think will help us if this plays out the first 5 games or so, is Michael Porter Jr playing sparingly to allow the other guards time to develop and gel. When Porter gets back watch out...Mizzou will be scary.
Puryear can be an absolute animal this year in a supporting role.
Barnett is going to really stretch defenses with his shooting.
The defense held a power 5 school to less than 60 points but still has room for improvement because they did allow ISU to shoot 40% from the field.
Mizzou out rebound the cyclones 30 to 7 on the defensive end. That alone will win a lot of games by limiting opponents shot attempts.
And on a side note... last night felt like Norm was handing the “baton” to Cuonzo. They way you hear former plays talk about Norm is how current players and recruits are talking about Cuonzo.
I can’t wait for this year, buckle up it’s going to be a blast!!!!!!!!!
One game (yes I realize it’s one game, but it’s been nearly 5 years since Denmon and co were running through the tunnel so bear with me) in Cuonzo looks like he is going to be successful in Columbia for awhile.
