Was watching the NCAA bball tournament last night with a former co-worker from KC (he is a KSU grad)...he told me he has heard some rumblings throughout the Big 12 that Texas is starting to talk about becoming an Independent again and asked me the following:
Texas leaves the Big 12 and the conference invites Nebraska, Colorado and Mizzou back to the conference to make 12 in the conference, the Big 12 gets it's own network and and has a contract equal to the SEC per school with Fox and all revenue is divided equally....Mizzou would get the same amount as they are getting with the SEC....Nebraska and Colorado have already accepted and the conference is waiting on Mizzou...you're the AD, do you come back to the Big 12?
My answer was that I think Sterk would look at it but don't know if he would do it...for selfish and nostalgic reasons, I personally would probably say yes because we renew our ku and NU rivalry, KC is in the center of all the Big 12 activity and we fit in better with these schools....and before anyone asks, I am perfectly fine with the SEC and if we stay in this conference for the next 100 years thats fine...just had a hypothetical question asked of me last night just thought I would throw it out to everyone else for their thoughts
