In basketball I see ZERO reason we can’t compete for a title in the SEC year in and year out. Recruiting STL and KC with a few national recruits here and there should be sufficient to keep us at the top of the league annually. This is all up to the coach to do his job and sell the program to the kids in MO. I think Cuonzo can do this...NCAA tournament is a crapshoot. Just get there annually and see what happens.
Football is tough. I think our ceiling is conference contention one out of four years. You have to hit the right senior clsss at the right time with some talented sophomores and freshmen mixed in. My thing with Mizzou has always been depth. I firmly believe that our starting lineup can play with ANYONE in the country. Including Alabama. Our problem is that we only go 1.5 deep at that level. Alabama and Auburn go 4 deep. That poses a huge challenge when injuries rear their inevitable head.
