Caught up with Trent Williams late last week to get an update on his recruitment and what he’s hearing from the Missouri staff.
Based on conversations with a couple people in the junior college hoops world, they wouldn’t be surprised to see him be one of the more sought-after JuCo prospects nationally this spring.
A couple other tidbits from our conversation:
-I asked him if getting back closer to Houston was important, and he said at the beginning of last year it would’ve been, but after living in Gillette for two years, he feels like he can live anywhere.
-He’s an extremely humble, respectful guy. Not many junior college kids I’ve interviewed have said they’d be willing to come to a program and be an energy guy on the bench if that’s what the team needs. He’a extremelt team-oriented. I think he got more excited talking about his teammates’ accolades and the Division I interest they’re receiving than what he’s been able to do this year.
-I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cornell Mann make a visit up there in the next few weeks. The pickings are getting slim in terms of immediately eligible 2018 point guards, and more teams are going to start getting in the mix as kids they’re recruiting sign elsewhere.
