I was there and could not possibly convey enough kudos to the Mizzou fanbase. To make it a legit 50/50 crowd - and it was every bit that - on one weeks notice, with a work day tomorrow inhibiting travel, in a metro area where it's statistically proven there is at least a 2 to 1 majority of ku alums over Mizzou alums to say nothing of non-alum fans, against one of the most hoops obsessed fanbases in the country that regularly fills Sprint on it's own, with our own fanbase having to pull itself out of the malaise of the last 3 (really 4) hoops seasons and the state of the athletic program as a whole...that crowd was just phenomenal for Mizzou.
Not just the numbers, but the energy of the building was dictated by the Mizzou side from start to finish. From the opening MIZ-ZOU chant to even in the waning moments when our crowd just would NOT let the Rock Chalk chant go unanswered even when defeat was inevitable....that was the essence of Mizzou right there. Vintage.
I was at Armageddon at Arrowhead in 2007. This was damn near a basketball version of that spectacle from a crowd standpoint. And it was a frickin exhibition game. Unreal. Good job Mizzou Nation. Now don't let up, keep coming. You have a team now.
