people on Pm know me as a big Mizzou baseball fan. Last year The Phillies acquired Kyle Gibson in June from Texas. The Phillies drafted Kyle out of high school in 38th round. Kyle decided to pitch at Mizzou and got drafted in the first round by the twins after 10 years in the bigs Th Phillies got him and has been pitching well. I met Kyle a couple of times when he was in double a and triple a with the twins. It is a little harder to get close to the ballplayers in the majors. They also are much more focused. In June of this year the phillies traded for Michael Plassmeyer from the Giants. Plassmeyer got drafted in the fourth round by Seattle in 2018 after a 3 year career at Mizzou. I have been following his pitching at Lehigh (Phillies Triple A) team where he was assigned. His last few outing he really pitched well at Lehigh and got called up yesterday by the Phillies. Tonight he made his major league debut and pitched in 1.1 innings of shut out ball. In summation The Phillies have 2 Mizzou pitchers. That might be a first. I am really happy for him and hope he can stay up in the bigs. MIZ!
