Carson Fulmer is a big-time ace. He was drafted in the 15th round out of high school in 2012. Now in his junior year at Vandy, he is 17-2 with 1.99 ERA for his career. He has 236 strikeouts in 208 innings over his career and 90 strikeouts in 64 innings this year. He's an almost certain first round pick this summer and mostly likely a top 10 pick. Obviously, stealing Friday night would be huge. Of course, the rest of their the staff is pretty damn salty as well. As you can see, every one of their starters is averaging better than a strikeout per inning. In fact, as a team, they have 411 strikeouts in 390 innings, which is pretty incredible. I'm sure it's happened before but I can't specifically recall any teams averaging more than a strikeout per inning over an entire season.
At the plate, Vandy is led by SS Dansby Swanson (.354/.455/.628). He was the MOP in the CWS last year and will probably be the first college position player drafted this summer.
The other guys to really watch out for are OF Rhett Wiseman (.318/.420/.540), OF Bryan Reynolds (.331/.403/.482), and 1B Zander Wiel (.318/.419/.522). Which is not to say you can sleep on the rest of their lineup. Their overall team slashline is .298/.377/.448.
