Starting lineups:
Mizzou: Puryear, Rosburg, Phillips, VanLeer, Wright
South Carolina: Thornwell, Carrerra, Dozier, Kacinas, Silva

FIRST HALF

Mizzou won the tip and Rosburg scored on a putback of a Puryear miss.

Phillips scores too. Two minutes in, Mizzou is up 4-0 with the ball

South Carolina is getting decent looks, but missing them. They've now missed three layups. Missouri needs to take advantage and get out to a bigger lead than four points.

Gamecocks are now 0-4 from the floor, but Carrera makes a free throw to make the score 4-1.

TV TIMEOUT: Mizzou leads 6-1 with 15:38 left first half. Gamecocks have missed their first six shots from the field.

SC makes its first shot 4:30 into the game. Still down just 6-3 though. Feels like Mizzou has missed a chance to open it up a little bit.

Another Phillips turnover. Missouri is just way way way too careless with the ball.

Isabell came in at the last TO. Gant and Woods replacing Puryear and Rosburg now with 1409 left.

I thought South Carolina got away with goaltending and a foul on the last possession. Neither was called.

Our first "Frank Martin might have a coronary on the sidelines" moment as the refs change a jump bacll to a foul on SC (which was correct).

Namon at the line for three now. He makes them all and Mizzou's lead is six. Wright also has five rebounds FWIW.

Great dish on the break from Isabell to Phillips for a three and the Tigers are up nine. Need to ride this hot streak as long as they can and get a cushion for when the drought comes.

Isabell hits one falling down. Timeout Frank Martin. Mizzou up 16-5. Gamecocks 2-14 from the floor.

Mizzou outrebounding SC 14-8 early on. Gamecocks also have five fouls to just three for the Tigers.

Isabell with two free throws. It's 18-5. Really.

KJ Walton in the game. All nine scholarship players have played.

Terrence Phillips just picked up his second foul at the 11 minute mark.

South Carolina has three field goals and four turnovers.

With Clark out, Tramaine Isabell has six points and is lighting things up.

Puryear and Rosburg back in. So is VanLeer. Tigers missed a chance to add to a 23-8 lead on an Isabell travel.

We have a Jimmy Barton sighting.

Tigers go 2-3 zone and Thornwell shoots over it for three.

TV TIMEOUT: Bizarro Mizzou 25, South Carolina 11. 7:58 to go. Namon Wright leads with six points and five boards.

Tigers need to take a double figure lead to halftime. Don't let SC back in it and gain confidence before the break. Still very early, need to keep the foot down.

Rosburg splits a pair at the line. Mizzou is in the bonus and leads 26-11.

Gamecocks get three shots on that possession and finally make one. Lead down to ten. Tigers need a bucket (and probably Isabell back in for Barton).

Nice dish by Barton to get Rosburg back to the line. Free throws are no good. Now 2-6 from the line. That hurts.

But Isabell gets a steal and a layup. He's got eight points, two boards, two assists and a steal now.

South Carolina is shooting 22% from the field. Ryan Rosburg is shooting 25% from the free throw line. At some point, they're gonna just start hacking him.

Gamecocks back within eight. I think Anderson should use a timeout, but he's tryin gto get to the media TO.

CVL just got shoved to the floor, no call. The officials in this game are odd.

TV TIMEOUT: Mizzou 29 South Carolina 21. 2:59 to go, KJ Walton headed to the line for two.

Allen and Woods in the game after the timeout, trying to steal a couple minutes. With two fouls on Phillips and Puryear, if Mizzou can get to the break with a double figure lead, you've got to be thrilled.

Looked like Mizzou went 1-3-1 on that possession. Missouri slowing things down now, which I like.

Woods and Allen have each missed shots by more than they were from the basket when they took them. Gamecocks have it back down ten. 1:30 to go.

1:21 to go, Tigers up ten. If they play this right, they can get two possessions to one for SC.

Woods with another airball, Allen with another foul. Woods was really good for his first stretch on the floor. Has been less good in his second stretch.

Dozier to the line. Makes it an eight point game with 46 seconds left.

Rosburg and Wright back in here.

Namon Wright turns it over. But Isabell gets it back on a steal and lays it in.

SC gets the last shot.

Long jumper is no good and therefs call Rosburg for a foul as the buzzer sounds. Oh man. That hurts. Gamecocks will get a one and one with no time on the clock.

HALFTIME: Mizzou 33 South Carolina 25. Tramaine Isabell leads the way with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals

SECOND HALF

Gamecocks score and it's a six point game. Missouri has to start well. If SC gets even, I think it goes downhill quickly.

Missouri turnover, South Carolina basket. Anderson should call a timeout right now.

Puryear to the line. Missouri needs to make a lot of free throws in this half. Puryear makes two here. His first two points. REmember, he and Phillips were on the bench most of the first half in foul trouble.

Missouri just loses Duane Notice. Three. It's a three point game.

Phillips to a WIDE open Namon Wright for three. He's got nine and five. That's helpful.

Missouri no defense there, but SC misses an unguarded layup. Rosburg on the runout. He's got eight. Tigers back up eight.

Rosburg just flat beat South Carolina down the floor twice. Tigers up 42-32. Timeout SC

Notice with another three. He's got 13 to lead SC. Sindarius Thornwell is 2-9 for five points. Don't think the Gamecocks can win if that doesn't change significantly this half.

Terrence Phillips with a three, then a steal to set Namon Wright up for two free throws. Tigers a chance to go back up a dozen.

Really really poor charge call goes against Phillips. That's his third with 15:41 left.

TV TIMEOUT: 47-35 Mizzou.

Would expect Isabell to get some run here with Phillips having three. That's not a bad thing with the way he played in the first half.

Isabell in, Phillips out. That's the only change.

Mizzou has four four minute segments left. Just need to play even in two of them to feel pretty good.

Refs getting very involved here. Puryear just picked up his third. Call came from 30 feet away. Gant in.

Gant whistled for a foul after exactly two seconds on the floor.

Great play by Isabell there. Shot clock winding down, he just tossed it at the rim. Didn't go in, but Gant got the tip. Best game Tramaine has played so far.

Wright's shot is blocked and Mizzou has just two seconds to shoot. Got to look for VanLeer here.

Instead it's a lob to Gant and it goes out of bounds to SC.

South Carolina isn't a good offensive team, but Missouri's defense worries me. They've given up a few baskets that are just too easy.

Gant with a foul. His second. Woods off the bench for Rosburg here. Walton will replace Wright.

Isabell, VanLeer, Woods, Gant, Walton. Offense has to come from Tramaine here. 49-40.

Great look from VanLeer to Walton for a three. Bonus there.

VanLeer misses and Gant picks up a terrible foul. That's his third in a little more than four minutes.

TV TIMEOUT: 52-42 Mizzou 11:41 to go. One segment down.

Tigers give up a lob to Carrera. Lead down to eight. Next four minutes determine the game. Bad three taken and missed by Isabell. Way too early. On the other end, Notice hits one and it's back to five.

Badly need a bucket here. Timeout Anderson. Good one. Not sure how much longer you can let Wright and Puryear sit.

South Carolina on a 7-0 run and now Walton has a bucket waved off on a charge call. Phillips and Wright back in. Rosburg too.

If Missouri can answer this run and survive, push it back to eight or ten, they'll win. If SC stays within a couple possessions the rest of the way, you get nervous. You've got one team that expects to win and another that probably doesn't.

Walton with another foul, this one on the drive.

Second half fouls: Missouri 8, South Carolina 4. Four Tigers have three.

Missouri has to start driving and getting to the line. Got to force the refs to blow the whistle on both ends.

Three point game.

Mizzou never got the ball inside the three point line and Phillips misses badly. Have to drive to the basket.

Walton drives and draws a foul. I'm telling you, these refs WANT to blow the whistle. Attack and you'll get to the line. KJ makes both. He has seven points.

Phenomenal possession there. Walton saves the ball to Puryear flying out of bounds, then Phillips with an offensive rebound, bucket and a foul. Mark that possession down. 57-49

Starting to see some toughness and belief out of these guys right now.

Rosburg with a reverse layup. Mizzou answers a 12-3 Gamecock run with 7 straight. 59-49 Tigers.

Two of the four four minute segments down, Missouri has held the lead at ten. Two more to go.

KJ Walton on a breakaway, thought he was gonna bring the house down with a dunk. Fouled from behind on what was awfully close to a clean block. But he goes to the line.

Turns out to be a good foul as Walton misses the first. Second one is good. 60-49. Tigers are 19-26 from the line. Six of those misses are from Rosburg.

Puryear picks up his fourth with 6:54 left. Gant in. Wonder how long he sits.

Free throws make it a nine point game. CVL just flat drops the ball. But Carolina can't capitalize and a big rebound from Gant gives it back to Mizzou with 620 left.

Rosburg keeps a possession alive...and then Phillips throws the ball to the Golden Girls. Under six to play.

Another missed SC layup. Gamecocks now 18-58...but Duane Notice makes a three to make it a six point game.

Rosburg just 2-8 from the line, but makes a big front end here. Second one is good as well. Big free throws there. He's got a team high 14.
