There has been some concern that Mizzou didn't beat SEMO by more. With all our success recently, I think people forget that past Mizzou teams, even ones that won 10+ games, had some struggles against inferior opponents.
Here are some examples since 2006 for whatever it's worth.
2006:
@ New Mexico 27-17
2007:
vs. Illinois State 38-17
2008:
vs. Buffalo 42-21
2009:
vs. Bowling Green 27-20
2010:
vs. SDSU (granted, that team was pretty good) 27-24
2011:
vs. Miami OH 17-6
2013:
vs. Murray State - trailed 14-13 after 1Q
vs Arky State - only led 20-16 after 3Q
2014:
vs. South Dakota St. 38-18
I guess the point is Mizzou teams don't always blow out bad opponents by 50+. Many of the teams listed above went on to have very successful seasons. GP's teams improve as the season goes on. Just something to consider in light of the SEMO game and with Arky State and UConn coming up.
