I can't begin to comprehend the scoring in Olympics wrestling, but I've got to say that as those judges kept looking at their monitors yesterday, I was convinced that J'Den Cox was going to get Mizzou'd out of a medal. I'm sure I wasn't alone.
The competitiveness, the courage and the grace and class that J'Den exhibited yesterday was remarkable. Without a doubt, it was one of the feel-good stories of the Games.
Here's a thought: Maybe, just maybe, after the chaos of the past year, we'll look back at Aug. 20, 2016 and the dignity with which J'Den represented his hometown and his university as a turning point in Mizzou athletics.
