1. So 5 years ago was very special day for me. I have been a life long Royals fan since back in the days of WIllie Wilson, George Brett, and Bo Jackson. 5 years ago today, at 1:30 pm, my wife went into labor with our second child. My wife was 10 days late as she was due on September 20th. Generally, they don't let women go that late, but she didn't want to be induced as she was wanting to have second child without a C-section. (First one was via C Section after doctor highly encouraged/recommended it). She dropped that OB and went with one who did allow V-Backs (child born via vaginal after a c section with previous birth). A lot of info there, anyways, she went into labor. So I texted some buddies, told them that she was in labor and that I wouldn't be able to watch the game, but please text me updates. So while we are in delivery room, contractions closer together, my phone is blowing up with updates. I think it was around 8 or 9 pm, I get the news, Ned put in Yordano to give up a massive homerun and the lead. KC ends up down 4. I can go back to delivery with my wife, game is probably over. She has been pretty cool about the updates and me checking my phone up to this point, but she hasn't hit the hell fire of delivery yet. Around 10 pm, Royals are mounting a comeback, but I'm not checking my phone because things are getting more serious. BTW, we had a doula, I highly recommend them, makes life so much easier, because lets be honest, your wife won't listen to a man during labor. BUT, she will listen to a doula. Anyways, about 2 hours later, my wife is in the throws of heavy labor and my phone starts vibrating like effing crazy. Blowing up. I'm not and haven't checked it since Moss went yard. My wife is going ape about my phone. She said eff your friends, throw your phone out into the hall or something like that. So back to labor, finally my son arrives around 12:45 am on Oct. 1, 2014. He wasn't breathing, the umbilical cord was double wrapped around his neck, his heart rate very low. I am like a dumb dad, not noticing stuff was sideways, trying to take pics of my second son. (Footnote, we didn't know the gender of child in advance). My son isn't crying or making noise. I see the nurse put two fingers into the chest of my son, and I knew then what was going on. I stayed calm. My wife wanted to know what was going on because she couldnt' see us over on the heated bed with a nurser performing CPR on our son. Another great thing for having a doula, she kept my wife calm. I told my wife everything was ok, but once again, I am a man and cannot be trusted in a delivery room. The doula said everything was ok and my wife was like, OK. So they performed CPR for about 90 seconds and then my son coughed and started crying and his body color came in. Pretty effing scary. He was fine, they took him to NICU for about 12 hours to observe. But he was fine. After everything was fine and my wife fell asleep, this is about 3:30 in the am. I started to wonder, wtf happened, the Royals had to come back because as late as my friends were blowing up my phone, it had to go to extras. So I checked my phone. I have the MLB app, which I highly recommend and saw the results and went and watched every highlight video for the next two hours. I was then borderline in tears for the 2nd time that morning. Just an absolutely amazing 24 hours. My son Forrest Russell Baumli will be celebrating his 5th birthday tomorrow.

2. Now here is the parenting advice for the OT. I had an almost crazy scare happen this past weekend with Forrest. We went to home depot, I needed some stakes for some halloween decorations. We purchase a dancing mummy for the kids. The boys flipped out, because we only bought one dancing mummy, but that's life, so we got home, the mummy stayed in the truck, boys went inside for punishment. After about 2 hours, Forrest asked if he could play with the mummy. He had finsihed cleaning his room, etc., so I said sure. I told him it was in the truck in the garage and he could go get it, but remember to shut the door after he got it out of the truck. I see him go into the garage. My wife then yells downstairs asking if I can start lunch for the other two boys. I start cooking corndogs and veggies. I get their food ready and tell them to come down. They come down, start eating. My wife comes down, she is done folding the laundry. She asks where is Forrest. I said, I don't know, he got that mummy and I assumed he went upstairs while I was in the kitchen cooking. The garage door is into the living room, unvisible to the kitchen. My wife then opens the door to the garage and my son is stuck in the pickup truck and can't get the door open. Now I swear that my son has opened the truck door from the inside many times before, but for some reason that day, he couldn't figure it out. My wife got him out, he was scared, crying, and covered in sweat. After he calmed down, I decided I need to make sure he knew how to do 2 things in my truck. The first is open the door. The second is how to honk the horn. We were lucky. It was around noon, not late in the afternoon. It was only 96 that day, not 106. The garage temperature was 90 degrees at the time. It can get really warm in the afternoon as our garage has windows in garage door facing south side. So, if you have children, teach them how to honk the horn in your vehicle. It may save their life. My son is ok.

3. Impeach, impeach, we have to impeach or do we. This week has been a cluster of crap from everyone involved in politics and political media. We have stories one day, retractions next. Tweets of hellfire, then tweets changing direction. We have Dems filing for investigation for articles for impeachment into a call before quasi notes on call released. We have dems demanding they vote for impeach now without investigation. We have GOPers running to aide of POTUS without much reason for making that immediate call. We have a former VP with a son who worked for a foreign gas company during daddy's VP stead. We have the US interferring into the employment of a prosecutor by withholding money. Was the investigation into the son over? Did that prosecutor need to be fired? Was the prosecutor protecting corrupt politicians? WHO THE EFF KNOWS. All this is doing is emboldening those who want to burn it all down. What a nightmare. What do we know? We know that Trump asked Ukrainian President to look into the prosecutor getting fired and the investigation of Biden's son's gas company. We know that. We know that Biden withheld $1 Billion of backed loans until said prosecutor was fired. That's what we know. How do we know these things? Because we have actual evidence that those things happened through Notes of the call and through Biden bragging about it. That is all we know. And it this point, everything else can't even be really trusted.

4. I wish Fall would get here. I am so sick of it being 100 degrees in Texas.

5. POTUS 2020 update. In 2 polls that came out last week, Quinipiac and Economist, Warren leads Biden, 1 point in Quin, 2 in Economist. Biden needs to dominate next debate. A lot was made of how Wall Street peeps said they won't support Warren. That makes sense. The wealth tax would crush them in terms of wealth and control. Make no mistake, a market crash would happen if she gets elected. It will probably crash the more likely it looks like she may win. That wealth tax is crazy scary for Billionaires. We all like to think, that's great, we aren't billionaires, that doesn't affect us. Maybe, but if the market crashes it will. The more the market crashes, the more likely Trump loses. Kind of crazy.

Another thing to watch on the election is early states. Iowa, NH. Right now, Warren leads NH. Another thing that I think Biden can do is try to help Bernie. With that said, I think Biden is done. This impeachment thing hurts him. All the dem candidates are getting asked if they would let their VP's son work for a foreign gas company during term.
