Not sure if this has been discussed already, so if it has, my apologies.
I have to believe this is a major game changer with regards to Jr's draft stock. Coming into the fall, he was likely a top 3 pick next summer. I think this changes that. Quite a bit actually. And I don't think he would leave early if his stock dropped him outside of the top 3.
This could play out better for Mizzou in the long run. He will likely be back next season, and it allows Mizzou to string out the momentum of his signing. I think this team still has enough talent to get to the dance this season. MPJ will come back to a more well-rounded team next season, as they will have had to learn to play without him all this year.
Next years team could be really, really dangerous. It will certainly be more experienced, and battle tested. Much better scenario for Porter to come back and blow it up next season with a better team around him, allowing him to regain his draft stock.
Thoughts?
