Everything below this line is quoted from the Denver Post:
Porter’s coming out party
In the wake of Michael Porter Jr.’s 20-points and a career-high 14-rebound night, the rookie said his biggest area of growth has been letting the game come to him and not chasing stats. It’s telling that Porter’s veteran teammates are thrilled with how he’s going about his business.
Of course, having Porter around alleviates some of the scoring burden on Jokic, especially with so many contributors out.
“He’s an amazing talent,” Jokic said. “When you see how his ball is going into the hoop, it’s amazing. Swoosh every time. He’s a big guy, he’s a rebounder. He can do a lot of things out there.”
Barton, who’s also shouldered much of the scoring burden during the team’s rash of injuries, was equally as effusive.
“Everyone knows his talent is out of this world,” Barton said. “At 6-11, like I always say, with his ability, it’s hard to guard him. And then he goes in there, he’s relentless on the boards. What can I say?”
