First of all, he took this program from the bottom to respectability and that should not go unnoticed. As for Mizzou in terms of winning, culture, and building a program him leaving will be better for both sides starting next season. I would consider myself a big college basketball fan and I analyze teams, coaches, and analytics as a whole. Most(not all) good teams in CBB, and the teams that make it far do not have ball dominant superstars. Even the teams with great players, Villanova for instance are balanced offensively and defensively while still having a star player, Brunson. However, I do not feel this way with Jontay. He is a good team player that effects the game on both sides without taking too many shots. I think having balance between guys like Tilmon, Torrence, Santos, Jontay, Puryear, Ramey? Improves the whole team and ball movement which leads to open shots. Let me know your guys thoughts. If we managed to get Jontay back, Ramey, and a grad transfer which is definitely possible we will be a good team next year, I’m sure of it.
