It was a good start to this game, but a really poor ending. Here are my thoughts:
1) Puryear was bad tonight! His offense was not good, but he was especially bad on defense. He really doesn’t need to shoot 3’s because he’s not a very good outside shooter.
2) Santos is giving us nothing. He is not good on either side of the ball. I’m not sure why he is getting so many minutes.
3) I thought this was Geist’s worst game of the year. He had way too many turnovers and he didn’t score much tonight.
4) Smith is shooting the ball well and now he just got hurt. Looks like it could be a pretty bad ankle sprain. He is not great on defense at times.
5) Tilmon is so frustrating! The only thing I can figure is he’s not real smart because he continues to commit dumb fouls on offense and he is pretty unagressive on defense.
6) Pinson makes some great plays, but does some dumb things as well. He definitely does not get after it real hard on defense. He has to be on the floor more. He needs the minutes to continue to develop.
7) Where was Pickett tonight. I don’t remember seeing him in the 2nd half. For a freshman he is pretty steady and plays hard. I hope he did not get hurt!
8) CM’s substitutions baffle me at times. He rewards good tough defense and I get that, but you also have to score to win games.
9) When Tilmon gets in fouls trouble and he normally does we have no post players that can score or play good defense.
10) CM should be after at least 2 more post players for next. We have the young guards, but we need some post players that can stay in the game.
