1) Harsin. Clearly he has a good gig up in Boise. But this is the SEC. Make him tell you no.
2) Fickell. I understand he's an Ohio guy. I know the chances are not incredibly high---but this is a HR hire.
3) McElwain. Has been Coach of the Year in 3 separate conferences. Won the SEC East in his only 2 years as head coach and dismissed after a 2 point loss (LSU) and a 1 point loss (AtM) in last season at Florida. He would really get things rolling at Mizzou.
4) Drinkwitz. Appy State is fun to watch and they are a force. Appy state folks. Yes, he is succeeding with the prior coach players but he is gonna be on big stage. Soon. I'd rather have him on my team than against him. The win against SC sold me. Right after their upset of GA.
5) Healy. Dude is gonna be the next Dabo. Biggest risk on my board overall but also potentially the biggest payoff.
6) UAB coach. Bill Clark. He's a really, really good one. He's ready for the big jump.
7) Anderson from ASU. I do think he's a very strong candidate. He has won at Arkansas State...which is a budding breeding ground for big time coaches.
8) Monken--Army. I get what you are saying right now...offensive system. Military service academy. Etc. ETC. Well I would completely disagree. Think about the Odom years. What were the most prevalent weaknesses? I would say a total lack of discipline. Mind numbing penalties. Lack of focus and lack of preparation. What would Monken bring? Exactly what we need. Incredible attention to detail. FOCUS. DISCIPLINE. I can guarantee you a coach of a military academy almost by definition HAS to be a solid recruiter. They do NOT generally fish in the same pools of talent. Their agenda is to get great kids. Winners. Leaders. And they mold them into a team of the highest order. I can guaran-DARN-tee you that any school that could give Michigan and Oklahoma the type of fits that they did (where both were incredibly lucky to escape with wins) has incredible focus. And I also completely disagree that he should be eliminated based exclusively on the type of offense he runs. I actually like that offense as long as it is tweaked like the Bowling Green/Utah offense that Urban Meyer ran. Anyone who watched any of their games in those teams knows that the entire offense was predicated on the running game. It was innovative. Options concepts and misdirection everywhere....and then built on a spread architecture which created massive mismatches when a team sold out to stop the run. https://www.footballxos.com/downloa...d-offense-2002-urban-meyer/?wpdmdl=5273&ind=0
9) Calhoun---Air Force. Same reasons as Monken.
10) coordinators or mid major coaches NOT NAMED SKIP HOLTZ.
